ACCESSIBILITY AT PRIDE

In 2024, with the newly formed River of Pride Board of Directors, the Festival's organizing committee made sure to address the growing issues in our community regarding the inclusion of our events.

During our 25th Pride Festival, we committed to:

1) Offering a diversity of spaces accessible to all;

2) Ensuring gender-neutral restrooms at venues;

3) Holding indoor events with masks;

4) Offering workshops online;

5) Creating sensory-friendly zones with reduced noise.

In 2025, we will continue to offer diversity in our programming to reach a wide range of people in our community. If you have any ideas to help us offer greater variety, please contact us and we'll be happy to hear your suggestions.

In an effort to make our website more inclusive, we use a writing format that allows people with dyslexia to quickly navigate using an adapted font.

River of Pride acknowledges that the Pride Festival takes place in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People. We recognize and honour the Mi'kmaq as the past, present, and future caretakers of this land. This territory is governed by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship, which did not involve the surrender of land but established ongoing nation-to-nation relationships.
